Find the magnets holding your product hostage.
China’s pause on its rare-earth export controls ends on November 10, 2026. Magnetless reads your parts list, finds every magnet that may depend on a Chinese licence, and maps the way out.

Finds the Chinese rare-earth magnets hidden in your product, before November 10.
One announcement from Beijing can stop an e-bike, drone or speaker, because a magnet three suppliers deep needs a Chinese export licence. Magnetless reads your bill of materials, flags each part likely to hold rare-earth magnets, and shows its escape route: ferrite, iron-nitride or a magnet maker outside China.
- Step 01
Reads your bill of materials
Agents check each part against datasheets, FCC internal photos and teardowns, and estimate how likely it is to hold NdFeB or SmCo magnets.
- Step 02
Traces where each magnet comes from
A magnet-supplier database gives each part a probable origin and its exposure to dysprosium and terbium controls.
- Step 03
Plans for November 10
A plan for each outcome, from extension to full reimposition, with stock-up quantities and a substitution path per part.
Built for hardware brands with motors, speakers or sensors.
A BOM exposure scan
Each part’s likelihood of holding rare-earth magnets, its dysprosium or terbium content and its probable origin.
An escape route per part
A ferrite redesign, iron-nitride or a magnet maker outside China, for your engineer to validate.
A November 10 plan, then a watch
Stock-up quantities for each scenario, and a standing watch on MOFCOM announcements after the date.
First up: A free public ‘rare-earth hostage index’ of 50 popular consumer products, published before November 10.
The world just changed.
What changed, and where it was reported.
China’s suspension of its October 2025 rare-earth export controls expires on 2026-11-10. The April 2025 licence regime for seven medium and heavy rare earths, including magnet materials, stays in force.
Mining TechnologyAnalysts see three outcomes for November: extension, selective reinstatement or full reimposition. No extension had been reported.
SkillingsRare-earth-free magnets, iron-nitride and ferrite, are being commercialised in 2026-2027 by startups such as Niron Magnetics. Ferrite carries a weight and efficiency penalty.

What a person does
Your engineer validates every substitution before anything changes. On larger accounts a person sources real quotes from magnet makers, and export-control questions go to your own counsel.
What if China extends the pause?
Then the urgency fades, but the April 2025 licence regime stays and the next announcement can come at any time. The watch keeps your plan current as a standing hedge.
Can the scan be wrong?
Yes. Magnet content often isn’t in the BOM, so each part gets a likelihood, not a certainty. Your engineer checks before you act.
Do you give export-control advice?
No. We map your exposure and your options. Export-control questions go to your own counsel.
